Jürgen Groll is head of the Department of Functional Materials in Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Wurzburg and has particular research interests in applied polymer chemistry, nanobiotechnology, biomimetic scaffolds, immunomodulatory materials and biofabrication. Prior to joining the University of Wurzburg, Professor Groll held positions at RWTH Achen — where he was group leader in polymer chemistry, biomaterials and naotehcnology — and at Sustech GmbH — where he was a senior researcher in nanotechnology, functional materials and coatings. He completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Ulm and his PhD at RWTH Achen.
