DeMANS bids a fond farewell to David Officer and looks forward to working with Michael Higgins

01 Oct 2024 13:55

The DeMANS consortium would like to wish the very best to Professor David Officer as he prepares for retirement after a long and illustrious career at the University of Wollongong.

Professor Officer's returement is somewhat bittersweet for the project and the consortium – we have benefitted enormously from his experience and expertise and we will miss his input and collaboration. But, the associaiton with Wollongong is not ending!

We are delighted to announce that Professor Michael Higgins will take up the role of instituional lead within the DeMANS project at the University of Wollongong.

Professor Higgins is Chief Investigator on both the ACES and ARC Industrial Transformational Research Hub (Steel Research Hub). He is also a Research Fellow for the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute (IPRI).

So, as we wish Professor Officer a fond farewell and wish him the very best of luck in his furture endeavours, we look very much forward to working with Professor Higgins over the next few years.
